President-Elect


The president-elect assists the president with the management of the Chapter and shall preside at meetings of the board of directors in the absence of the president. In addition to duties prescribed in the bylaws the president-elect shall:

Specific Responsibilities

 

  • Perform the duties of the President in his/her absence
  • Assist the President in overseeing the work of the board and their committees
  • Serve as an advisor to the president in the president’s function of being the chief spokesperson of the Chapter
  • Attend board meetings; support the efforts of other board members; attend the programs and activities of our local chapter
  • Assist the President in reviewing, organizing and preparing the structure for the annual strategic planning meeting
  • Attend the Regional Conference, Leadership Conference and Symposium
  • Help identify future leaders and chair the nomination committee
  • Monitor and report Chapter status for national recognition
  • Become knowledgeable about Chapter activities in order to act as interim president or represent the president when necessary.
  • Encourage board members to recruit, train and nurture committee members to ensure future involvement and leadership.
  • Be responsible for attaining at least one corporate sponsor.

As each Chapter’s organization is unique, the duties of presidents-elect will vary. Familiarize yourself with the duties of the other officers of your Chapter.
