Elevating The Profession That Transforms Lives Through The Power of Financial Planning

We support our members in advancing through every phase of their career - encompassing the business, practice and profession of financial planning.

About Us

The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) is the primary membership organization for financial planning practitioners who want to master the practice of financial planning, and who are committed to shaping the future of the profession.

FPA Dallas/Fort Worth Mission

The mission of the Financial Planning Association of Dallas/Fort Worth is to foster excellence in the practice of financial planning and to promote the value of the CFP® designation.

FPA Dallas/Fort Worth Vision

The vision of the Financial Planning Association of Dallas/Fort Worth:
  • To promote the value of the financial planning process as a way for people to achieve their goals and dreams; and promote the CFP® licensee as the professional best able to help individuals do so.
  • To build a growing membership that is unified by a shared vision.
  • To build a board and committee structure powerful enough that we will not have our vision stunted by a lack of manpower.
  • Make the Financial Planning Association a community where members feel comfortable exercising their gifts and pursuing their passion for the benefit of the organization.

Code of Ethics

From its earliest designs, the Financial Planning Association included a mandate that members will adhere to a code of ethics that reflects their commitment to help clients achieve their life goals. One of the first acts of the FPA Board was to develop and institute that code.

In accord with founding documents created by the FPA's first board of directors, including the Memo of Intent and Bylaws, all FPA members will be asked to commit to this code of ethics. The FPA Code of Ethics guidelines capture the essence of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standard's code but makes it applicable to all FPA members - CFP® certificants and non-CFP® certificants alike.

FPA's Ethics Committee is charged by the Board of Directors with reviewing alleged violations of the FPA Code of Ethics and advising staff on ways to enhance awareness by FPA members of their obligations under the Code.
