BREAKOUT l (Trinity Ballroom): Should You Invest in Real Estate During a Down Market?

Exploring the ROI of Real Estate Investing During a Recession

Alex Doubet, CEO - Door, Inc.

Macroeconomic indicators seem to point to a recession in the next 12 to 18 months. Is it time for your clients - What strategies work for investing in Real Estate should your clients choose to do it? (Discussing BRRR method – Buy, Rehab, Rent, Repeat method vs buying and holding – discussing how if you do not rent and achieve cash flow you are speculating on appreciation which is a gamble considering the costs to hold that asset. Discuss single family renting vs multi family vs condo/apartment) to consider alternative investment strategies to not get caught out in the wind without a sail? (Minor talking points are: volatility index, inability for markets to predict what they will do, and the inverted yield curve).

Harvard graduate Alex Doubet thought Residential Real Estate was in need of a shake up. In early 2016 he founded Door to do just that. After spending some time back in his home town of Dallas buying and selling apartment buildings, he decided to strike out on his own. Today, Door has raised $12 million dollars and employs over 80 people who work through real estate, title and mortgage divisions.

They now know what needs to be done, but the how is not as certain. Julian Leaver’s expertise is in applying practical etiquette techniques to leverage more sales and better service for corporations. Julian’s background in the event world provides him with the perfect tripod of experience. By 2016 he had moved into event planning full-time, focusing on destination weddings and local luxury events.  Julian also decided to refine his etiquette knowledge acquiring a Certified Protocol Officer designation from The Protocol School of Washington. The Dapper Diplomat is Julian’s medium for polishing the basic sales and service training most employees receive.
