16th Annual FPA DFW Media Training Day - Get Media Trained!

Time to cash in on one of the TOP 5 most valuable benefits of being a FPA DFW member...Media Training!  Join our nationally recognized local media experts to learn how to increase your visibility, amplify your exposure, and promote financial planning by building relationships with local media outlets and joining the National FPA MediaSource.

Meet our guest speaker Amanda Lane Marek, Producer for the NBC 5 Responds team and hear up-to-date information and key tips from Patrick Dougherty, CFP®, local practitioner, instructor, and media guru.  Then mix, mingle, and share tips with local members on how to cultivate your own personal relationships with local media outlets.

This opportunity is only available to local FPA DFW chapter members and you must be a CFP® to be on the media team.  Become a FPA member!   Media Team members are also required to volunteer on a FPA DFW Committee.  Non-CFP® Licensees are welcome to attend for training purposes only. Space is limited so sign up today. Media Team members must attend Media Training Day at least once every 2 years to be eligible to receive media referrals through FPA.  Media training takes place annually in March.

Amanda Lane Marek is the producer for the NBC 5 Responds team. Before joining NBC DFW in June 2016, she worked with investigative teams at news stations in Seattle, Phoenix, and Chicago. While working as a producer with NBC’s Consumer Investigative Center, she helped Chicago consumers recover over $350,000 in a time span of 5 months. While in Arizona, she was a contributor to a story submitted to I.R.E. that received an Honorable Mention for the FOI Award. The investigation delved into the safety of public school  football helmets. Amanda is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.

This opportunity is only available to FPA DFW chapter members.
The cost is $35.  Once the event reaches capacity a waiting list will begin.

BONUS! At the conclusion of the formal training session we will mix and mingle at a wine and cheese reception with Amanda Lane Marek.
