Today’s challenging economy was starting to show in the stock and bond markets. Shifts in the financial markets are leading economic indicators and usually occur about 6-9 months ahead of actual changes in the economy. Give your self an edge. Understanding the historic, long-term, cyclical nature of the economy may allow you to better position both your business and portfolio for what’s ahead.

With today’s rising lifespans, we could be facing roughly 20 or more years in retirement, which is approximately 8,000 days. Once thought of this way, it becomes clearer that retirement is not an end, but rather a new, complex, and unknown phase of life, during which so much could happen.

These opportunities range from tactical strategies in areas such as retirement-income planning, investment planning, and charitable planning, to anticipating and preparing for long-term demographic and lifestyle changes. Mike joined the organization in 1993 as an annuity client service specialist. In 1997, he joined the advanced product marketing department, where he developed an extensive knowledge of estate and retirement planning. In 2004, Mike became a regional sales director.
